Not old enough to know any better
Published on May 9, 2005 By AlexMatheson In Humor
As I add to this blog, I hope to give some insight into my background and life. Some items will be humourous, others less so. But whatever you may read, I'd advise you to keep some salt on hand as you will ceratinly need to use the odd pinch or two. Anyway, this is apparently a true story...

On the street where I grew up, there were three families living in a row of three houses. My family lived in the first house (mum, dad, 2 boys and 2 girls, white with a Chruch of Scotland background). In the next a family of similar race and religious background (mum, dad, 1 boy and 2 girls). And in the third, a Pakistani family (mum, dad, 2 boys and 1 girl). All the kids played together and got along really well. There was the odd falling out and the occasional fight but on the whole we had a good laugh. On one occasion my parents had a very good laugh.

The elder children from each of these families were in our back garden playing. After playing some ball games and trying to touch the sky on a swing, we decided to play cowboys and indians. We had an assortment of toy guns, cowboy hats, and the like and were deciding who would be the cowboys and who the indians. but couldn't come to any agreement. So, I settled the matter.

I turned to my Pakistani friend and said, "Tariq, you have to be an indian because you're the wrong colour for a cowboy."
